Distance learners, and students and faculty accessing library resources from off-campus, can easily access your university's ACI Scholarly Blog Index portal and fully enjoy the premium features that your ACI subscription offers them.

Off-campus access for institutions not using EZProxy

For off-campus access with institutions not using a proxy service, users need to visit the university's ACI portal (for example, university.aci.info), click on Sign Up in the upper-right corner, and register with a university-supported email address (for example, john@university.edu).

Off-campus access for institutions using EZProxy

ACI is compatible with EZProxy services. Institutions that use EZProxy will need to set up the components in the subdomain format (for example, university.aci.info.ezproxy...). When a user visits the ACI Scholarly Blog Index through EZProxy:

  • The user must authenticate with EZProxy to validate that they are allowed to access the school's resources.
  • Once authenticated, the user can access the ACI link.
  • ACI's system will detect the user coming in through an EZProxy hostname, authenticate the original IP address, and automatically re-direct the user to the appropriate location.

We have confirmed the following Stanza works for EZProxy:

T ACI Scholarly Blog Index

U http://scholar.aci.info

D scholar.aci.info

Off-campus access for institutions using another proxy service

While ACI has not verified compatibility with other proxy services, it may be compatible with your proxy service. Institutions will need to set up components in the format appropriate to that proxy service. If successful, when a user visits the ACI Scholarly Blog Index through your proxy service:

  • The user must authenticate with your proxy service to validate that they are allowed to access the school's resources.
  • Once authenticated, the user can access the ACI link.
  • ACI's system will detect the user coming in through a proxy service hostname, authenticate the original IP address, and automatically re-direct the user to the appropriate location.
